I shared your Hopedale story with our oldest daughter who experienced sailing on the square rigger HM Bark Endeavour back on its world tour with National Geographic in 1999 & 2000. She went on to be a part of the offshore sailing team at the Naval Academy and sailed across the Atlantic. She can relate to every single detail of your journey.
